This Privacy Policy explains how SecondLook (“we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our AI home-inspection second-opinion service (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

• Account information. Your name, email address, and a securely hashed password, managed through our authentication provider.
• Uploads and property details. The home inspection PDFs, photos, property address, and related details you provide so we can generate your report.
• Generated reports. The AI analysis and PDF reports we create for you.
• Usage and technical data. Basic logs such as IP address, browser type, and actions taken in the app, used to operate and secure the Service.

2. How we use your information

• To create and operate your account.
• To process your uploads and generate your second-opinion report.
• To store your reports so you can access them later.
• To maintain security, prevent abuse, debug issues, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your uploaded inspection content for advertising.

3. AI processing and third-party providers

To deliver the Service, we share your information with infrastructure and AI providers acting on our behalf:

• OpenAI— your inspection report text and/or file and any property photos are sent to OpenAI’s API to generate the analysis. OpenAI processes this data to return a result and, per its API terms, does not use API inputs or outputs to train its models.
• Supabase — provides authentication, the database, and encrypted file storage where your account data, uploads, and reports are stored.
• Vercel — hosts the application and processes requests.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the Service.

4. Storage and security

Your uploads and reports are stored in private storage buckets and are accessible only to your account through access controls and signed, time-limited links. We use industry-standard safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data retention and deletion

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can remove an individual report at any time using the Remove report action in your dashboard, which deletes the associated inspection, uploaded files, and generated report. 6. Cookies and sessions

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to maintain your session. These are required for the Service to function; we do not use third-party advertising cookies.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond consistent with applicable law.

8. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
